Playing the very first songs on your guitar will likely be easier if you already know the notes on the initial guitar string. Slowly play these notes and just be sure you concentrate to master notes well.
After mastering the notes on the first two strings, you now proceed over the third string. G will be open string and another note is A (second fret). When you recognize these notes already, start playing them along with the other notes you've learned previously. Again, you should stick to simple songs. You don't have to work on each of the notes at once. Try to master each of the notes and learn them consciously. Even young children can learn guitar notes easily. Follow these steps and in no time, it is possible to play the notes on the guitar.
